Chamber Director

Meet Bobby Krum, Executive Director

My name is Bobby Krum and I currently live just outside Monticello in Amber, IA with my wife Heidi of 18 years. I grew up in the small Northeast Iowa town of Maynard, where I graduated from West Central High School in 1999. I then went on to Hawkeye Community College and received an Applied Arts Degree in Graphic Arts. After college, I continued my career with Walmart for 5 years as an Assistant Manager. When I left Walmart, I went to work at Best Buy as a Supervisor in the Wireless Department.  In 2007 I joined the team here in Monticello at EchoVision (US Cellular). I continued to work for EchoVision for the next 14 years as Area Sales Manager, overseeing 6 locations.

Last year my wife and I purchased Whiffle Tree Antique Mall located in Monticello, IA. After a 6-month renovation of the new Whiffle Tree Mercantile, we brought new life into a wonderful business located here in Monticello. My passion for small business has helped us develop Whiffle Tree Mercantile into a family experience for all to enjoy. Overall, I have had almost 22 years of leadership in the business community. I have held many other positions with boards and committees throughout the years. Currently, I am President of Blue Cut Trailblazers (ATV/UTV Club in Jones County) & The Amber Community Club in Amber. In the past, I have been a board member for Jones County Tourism, Jones County Historical Society, and the Anamosa Chamber of Commerce. Just this past year Blue Cut Trailblazers was awarded Member of the Year from the Anamosa Chamber. My history with small business, leadership, tourism, and the inner working of a chamber have prepared me for the new role as Executive Chamber Director for the city of Monticello. I am very excited to work with small businesses to grow their existing business and attract new businesses to our community. Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to meeting you all in the future.

As the Executive Director, I will provide leadership for the MACC and the business community and is responsible to the Board of Directors for the full range of activities needed to ensure the Chamber’s success in meeting its objectives.

The chamber office has an open-door policy and encourages members and visitors to contact us often.  To ensure the director is in the office, please contact us before you come … thank-you!

Office hours are from 9:00 a.m. –  5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday.
