Hello! My name is Megan Beaman, and I have been with the Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce for over a year now!
I am no stranger to the Monticello area, growing up 10 miles north of town in Hopkinton. I took driver's ed in Monticello, worked at Pictured Rocks UM Camp, and frequented many Monticello businesses. After graduating from Maquoketa Valley in 2018, I continued my education at NICC in Peosta. While I commuted from school, I worked as an EMT at Regional Medical Center in Manchester and served on the Hopkinton First Responders. After graduating with my Associate's Degree from NICC in December of 2019, I took a gap year to gain more experience in the emergency medical field. As the events of 2020 unfolded, I discovered a career in the medical field was not for me. I then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa in 2021 to study Recreation, Tourism, and Nonprofit Leadership. While at UNI, I was the Executive Director of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance on campus and obtained my Certified Nonprofit Professional Credential. I graduated with honors in May of 2023 with my Bachelor's Degree, and took time to travel to Arizona. I found my way back to Monticello in January of 2024 and began working at Camp Courageous. After completing a spring season, I began working for MACC in June of 2024!
Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed living and working in the Monticello community. The people make the community what it is, and I believe it's important to give back. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, paddling, and anything that involves being with friends.
Feel free to stop into the Chamber office and say hi, or give me a call!
Thanks,
Megan Beaman
