Monticello is located in eastern Iowa at the intersection of State Highway 38 and US 151 Highway halfway between Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. The Monticello Regional Airport provides general aviation services, including corporate planes and jets. The Jones County JETS serves Monticello as an intercity/rural bus line. Students in the Monticello School District receive an excellent education. Advance classes are available for high school students through Kirkwood Community College, which has a center in Monticello.
