Our Goal

The Monticello Chamber of Commerce (MACC) works behind the scene doing whatever it takes to make things happen and keep progress moving forward while promoting its members and the City of Monticello. Our goals are achieved through our dedicated energetic volunteers, chamber members, Board of Directors, industries and organizations that have a strong commitment to the community to invest in the Chamber.

MACC Mission Statement

The mission of the Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce is to provide the leadership to promote Monticello and the surrounding area Chamber Members. The Chamber will serve as a catalyst for the development of business and industry in the area and shall gather and disseminate information to its members and other interested parties.

MACC Background

The MACC was created to promote the business and industry interest of Monticello, Iowa and the surrounding area. The "Commercial Club" was formed in October 1923. It was reorganized two additional times until October 20, 1989 when it became the MACC.

The chamber is a grassroots organization and the community bands together behind it. The chamber operates will all volunteer officers with the help of one part time paid staff and hundreds of community volunteers.

MACC is made up of a nine-member, volunteer Board of Directors who are elected by the membership. The Board employs a director to coordinate the day-to-day activities of the office.
